Clark's Corner Archives VIII
Well since G-Ranger finally decided to be productive for the first time in a while, JoJo decided to do
the same as well. Wanted to say congratulations on the Granger's new home, I wasn't there to help
them move in body, but in spirit, I was lifting the couch by myself. Well since all my readers are waiting
with shear anticipation, let me begin my article.

Given the recent I-70 Series, Cards vs Royals, I thought being a Cardinals fan living in Kansas City, I
could give a bias and unfair comparison between Kansas City and St. Louis. Don't get me wrong I love
the town of Kansas City, hardly any rush hour, you can get to almost anywhere in the town within a half
hour, and even though it's bad the crime rate in STL make KC look like Disneyland at times. (Of
course East St. Louis is part of St. Louis) Nonetheless, if your a sports fan, can you name another town
that is any more of a purgatory then Kansas City? If you read past Clark's Corners you noticed I
mentioned that Detroit is the "armpit of America", but as a sport fan, it has to be a descent town (see
hockeytown). I think of Milwaukee as a possibility, but then I remember Green Bay is close, PLUS
they have a baseball stadium for THEIR TERRIBLE TEAM right in the heart of downtown, brand new
also. (I will try my best to refrain discussing this subject.) Not a lot of people want to drive out of their
way to see a terrible team in the middle of nowhere. (No offense John!)

The more and more I write this article the more and more it upsets me to be a sports fan and having to
live in Kansas City. The Royals are a given. St.Louis should have cancelled there trip here and sent
their Triple AAA
Memphis team to at least have competition. After the Triple AAA team had won the first two, maybe
bring in the Cardinals for one game to show the fans of KC what a stadium filled with people looks like,
even though its all red.  One moronic Royals fan told me that over half of those people were wearing
Chefs gear. Right, and Jorge Orta was safe at first!!!!

As for the Chefs,  I won't say too much, they have a chance to be descent in the next few years. Why?
St. Louis' coach!! Enough said. The good news about STL football this year is that I can start liking the
Rams a little bit more now that Martz begged the league to get out of the old NFC West to avoid
having to play God's team twice a year. Oh it's true, it's true.

I could go on and on about the powerful basketball team in KC, hey shut up, ABA champs!! They use
to have a pro team, you know the one that was a shot or two away from beating the Lakers to go to
the finals. Oh well, on to hockey................ok I'm done.

I just re-read what I have written to this point and it is definitely sounding like a lot of scattered chatter.
But I would like to give an example of a KC fan. There is an individual that I know that over the past
few years has acquired some other sports teams as his favorites.  Baseball-Yankees, Football-Patriots,
College B-Ball-Any ACC team. Seriously I am not making this up. This just exemplifies what happens
to sports fans who live in KC: delirious, they absolutely go delirious.

In conclusion, which is way off the subject, I have a fantasy baseball team in which I have 5 Red Sox
on my team and 5 Cards on my team. So what is my prediction for the World Series.............Cards
over Red Sox in 6!!! "The Greek" has spoken.
